Professional Experience:

- In the capacity as the chairman of the Center of Planning and Architectural Studies (CPAS) he planned and designed several projects in Egypt and the Arab World with the concept of the revival of historical heritage in contemporary planning and architecture. He became one of the leading authorized experts in this field.
- Published fourteen books and twenty-five research papers in housing and planning that were presented in several international and national conferences and seminars.
- He organized, and participated in several conferences, Activities symposiums, seminars, and training courses.
- Participated in competitions of architectural and urban Planning Projects in Egypt and abroad.
- Published many essays and papers in the field of Housing and Urban Development at daily and weekly newspapers and magazines. Also, participated in a number of scientific and cultural television programs in Egypt . He was selected as an Urban planning Consultant for Ismailia and Aswan Governorate.
- Member of the Ministerial Committee for Urban and Architectural activities.
- Member of the Ministerial Committee for the Development of Historical Cairo .
- Member of the Society for upgrading Historical Cairo.

Scientific Awards :

- The prize of Kuwait Organization for Advancement of Science- Subject Islamic Architecture (1992).
- The Best Arab Architect Award from the Arab Towns Organization, (1988).
- The Best Architectural Author Award from Egypt Engineers Syndicate for his book "Building the Architectural Intellect and the Design Process". (1991).
- Distinguished Medal of the first degree by the President of Egypt (1991).
- First prize in Town Planning Publication from the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities, Saudi Arabia for his book "Establishment of Cultural Values in the Contemporary Islamic Cities" (1989).
- First prize in Architectural Publication from the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities, Saudi Arabia for his book "Islamic perspective of the Architectural Theory". (1989).
- The State's Encouragement Prize in Architecture for the year 1989.
- The Second prize from the Council of the Arab Ministries of Housing 1998.
- Certificates of Merit from Damascus Engineers Syndicate (1992)., the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate for being one of the first generation of Architects in Egypt and the Arab World. (1991). , the Fifth Egyptian Architects Conference (March 1989) , Alexandria Engineers Syndicate (1988)., Faculty of Fine Arts - Assiut University (1986)., and Egyptian Engineers Syndicate - Cairo (1986).
