This book is about the history & the development of the Architecture of the Turkish house, where the researcher technically studied the houses that have a traditional identity at Al-Anadol in addition to photographing several houses that kept its architectural type in several Turkish cities (about 12 cities) also he has studied the traditional Arabic house in Syria during the Ottoman Age, comparing the architectural elements of the two types houses and the general influences that affected them.
This book is made up of five chapters divided on 310 pages (medium size) and it contains more than 70 colored pictures which have been photographed very carefully by the author himself in addition to a lot of maps and architectural layouts that amuses the reader while reading the book.
The author used the first chapter to talk about evolution of the wooden houses through out history and explained the shapes of the primitive houses by using the layouts. In the second chapter he presented the architectural elements of the Turkish house which is composed of the corridor and the room and he explained each element in addition to the development of the concept of the environment and the shape and the concept of the Turkish houses at Al-Anadol in addition to the relationship between the interior and the exterior environment of the room.
In the third chapter the author focused upon the materials used in constructing the house and its relationship with the technique used in the construction of the Turkish house.
The author in the forth chapter moved to the history of the Ottoman empire and its architectural style in Syria.
The fifth chapter which is the last one is considered as the most important chapter in the book where the author started to make a comparison between the Turkish and the Arabic house.
The importance of this book is in the uniqueness of its subject and in the interaction between the Author and the Turkish and the Arabic environment in addition to the detailed study which is modified by the colored pictures and the architectural maps and layouts that amuses the reader.
