Dr. Mohammad Abdel Baki was selected by HIS( Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies) to attend its refresher course ‘ Bridging Borders- Integrated Strategic Planning for Cities and Regions’ held in Cairo- Egypt from 14 November till 25 November and sponsored by NFP - Netherlands fellowship program-The main objective of the course is the ability of analyzing and identifying boundaries and barriers to performance of effective strategic planning processes in addition to the ability of preparing a planning process that maximizes the chance of success.

Ministry of Irrigation and water Resources assigned CPAS to prepare a study to solve problems of dumping of solid materials in water canals in Monofia Governorate, that for its impact on the quality of drinking water and existence of many diseases as well as it affects the water flow in canals which leads to inefficient irrigation of agricultural lands.

The building consists of 5 floors with a total built up area 21365m2 and the scope of work included restoration, development and furnishing of the building , interior design and execution supervision . The Awards Council of the Kuwait Science progress institution choose Dr. Mohamed Abdel Baki Ibrahim to be a member in the committee in charge of evaluating the presented nominations for the Kuwait Prize 2010 in The Arabic and Islamic Scientific Heritage (Architecture).The amount of the prize is Three Thousand kD. equivalent to One Hundred Thousand USD.

Its value is ten thousands Egyptian pounds.

CPAS has prepared a financial studies on the savings of the structural skeleton and foundations cost , mortar plaster and electricity consumption as a reason of using light weight sand bricks instead of clay bricks for the construction of two hotel and administrative towers – Falcon Towers-Maadi-Cairo, and the study showed that incase of using Light weight sand bricks (500kg/m3) instead of Clay bricks (1400kg/m3) in walls decrease loads on columns by 23% as well as it reduces the thickness of slabs  and the quantity of iron bar used for reinforcing slabs and foundation and reduces number of  piles, which leads to reduction in the total cost of the structural skeleton of the two towers by 12% . in the mean time the result of the study showed that percentage of saving in thermal loads acquired as a result of external factors of the residential tower is 27% and percentage of saving in thermal loads acquired as a result of external factors of the hotel is 23%

The lecture by the architect Archana Sharhari is entitled “Chandigare after sixty years”.

The lecture by architect Surindar Baha is entitled “Contemporary Capitals” and it includes examples of Islam Aboad – Pakistan, Brazilia, Brazil, Kauria and Australia.

The Center of Planning & Architectural Studies was chosen as one of the 10 most important consultancy firms in Egypt during 2009. Also The General Union of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce new Headquarters was chosen as one of the 10 most important projects designed through 2009. This is according to what was published in the "Al Benaa Al Araby" (The Arab Building) magazine, the 18th issue published on February 2010, in their third list for the most important 100 in the Building and construction sector in Egypt and the Middle East for the year 2009. The General Union of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce Headquarters was designed on 9800 m² area, its estimated cost is EGP 29 million, and is currently under construction with CPAS supervision in New Cairo.

The encyclopedia has 602 pages and is written by Dr. Khaled Mohamed Hiba.

Delta Company for Sand Bricks contracted with CPAS to make analytical financial studies of the advantages of using light sand bricks against the use of clay bricks, and this is to save the costs of the concrete structure, foundations, adhesion mortar and consumption of electricity. The study confirmed that the biggest saving is in the residential buildings, whereas it saves 4.45%.

As well as, a contract was signed to entrust CPAS to be the regional consultant for the group of the factories in Egypt and in North Africa countries, noting that the Company adopted CPAS as a regional headquarter for it to expand its services fields in Egypt and abroad.

The hospital’s capacity is 250 beds and includes the hospital main building (emergency room, outpatient clinics, labs, X-rays, physical therapy, central sterilization, operating rooms, premature infants, intensive care, cardio catheterization, dialysis, blood bank, pharmacy, kitchen, laundry and cafeteria), MRI building, nurses residence building, nursing school building, soldiers depot, workshops, offices building, and mosque. The medical equipment is currently being supplied in preparation for the opening.

This and he previously contributed in the “International conference for building construction-Interbuild” held during the period from 17-21 June 2004 with two researches, the first: (The advantages of using light porous concrete blocks against using concrete bricks in designing and construction) and the second: ( NGOs role in improving the living conditions for slum areas, presenting a suggested guidance project) in cooperation with prof. The Kuwaiti Institute of National Education has signed a contract with CPAS for the preparation of special studies concerning the asset valuation of one of Cairo's schools in order to conduct a feasibility study for investment in the school. This study includes the evaluation of land, property, structures, tools and equipment owned by the school. Construction of the Nada project, which consists of six – twelve story apartment buildings, has begun. The project is located in southern maadi with a cost of 70 million pounds. This phase is a part of a larger project consisting of 19 apartment buildings. The owner is the Ministry of Interior.
