5/2010 | CPAS has prepared a financial studies on the savings of the structural skeleton and foundations cost , mortar plaster and electricity consumption as a reason of using light weight sand bricks instead of clay bricks for the construction of two hotel and administrative towers – Falcon Towers-Maadi-Cairo, and the study showed that incase of using Light weight sand bricks (500kg/m3) instead of Clay bricks (1400kg/m3) in walls decrease loads on columns by 23% as well as it reduces the thickness of slabs and the quantity of iron bar used for reinforcing slabs and foundation and reduces number of piles, which leads to reduction in the total cost of the structural skeleton of the two towers by 12% . in the mean time the result of the study showed that percentage of saving in thermal loads acquired as a result of external factors of the residential tower is 27% and percentage of saving in thermal loads acquired as a result of external factors of the hotel is 23% |
